Established by Jadranka d.d. and now managed and operated by Jadranka Turizam d.o.o., camp Čikat is located on the island of Losinj about 3 kilometres from the town of Mali Lošinj. Almost totally surrounded by pine trees, the campsite occupies around 40 hectares of land and 800 meters of rugged and picturesque coastline, with of course crystal clear water for all of the family to enjoy.
Mention must be made of the archaeological richness of the surrounding area. If you like diving, then Čikat may be the place for you! In 1996, a Belgian guest of the camp was diving off the coast of Losinj and discovered a 2 metre tall bronze statue dating back to the 1st or 2nd century. The statue is on permanent exhibition in the renovated Kvarner Palace in the center of Mali Lošinj.
Our guests and what they think about us
Each year around 40,000 guests stay at the camp, with around 25% of them having stayed in the camp before. Guests come from many different countries, including Slovenia, where Čikat has been awarded the best campsite in the Kvarner region for the last couple of years; as well as guests from Germany, including MP's from the German Bundestag. Our staff
Camp Čikat has around 110 staff employed during the high season, managed by Zlatko Vukajlović, the Campsite director. Zlatko has held this position for the last 19 years and has over 27 years experience in the hospitality sector. When not managing the camp, Zlatko spends time with his family as well as indulging his passion for football. But beware if you fancy challenging him to a game while at the camp - as an ex-player, coach and founder of the local football club's soccer academy you might not have much of a chance of winning!
Our future
Considerable effort is being put into increasing the quality and variety of the range of available family entertainment and activities that can be experienced at the campsite including a large aqua-park. Also a focus for the future is the provision of health tourism programmes to take advantage of Lošinj's beneficial and healing climate for people with respiratory problems.
